Rate of Pay: $39.48 - $43.19 per hour
Hours of Work: 28 hours per week, scheduled over 4-5 days Sunday-Thursday and including at least two weekday afternoon-evening shifts. Schedule will allow for some flexibility, within operational needs, and will be finalized with the successful candidate.

Summary
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and administering racquet sports programs and services including tennis, pickleball, squash, badminton and other relevant. Under the supervisor's direction, the incumbent trains, supervises and schedules staff and assists community groups with facility rental and contract administration.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Organizes, implements and evaluates a variety of racquet sports programs and activities for all ages and a variety of skill levels.
- Assists with recruiting, selecting and training racquet sports staff, volunteers and contract instructors.
- Directs and guides racquet sports staff, volunteers and contract instructors; assists in conducting performance reviews.
- Prepares and maintains staff schedules and payroll under the supervisor's oversight.
- Accepts facility rental requests and processes bookings within existing policies.
- Follows contract administration and insurance procedures.
- Assists with responding to and resolving public inquiries and concerns.
- Updates and posts appropriate facility and activity schedules (e.g. drop-in pickleball schedules).
- Assists with developing policies and procedures relating to racquet sports programs and services.
- Assists with creating and maintaining written, statistical and financial reports and records.
- Assists with planning and implementing racquet sports special events and tournaments.
- Assists with preparing annual program budget.
- Purchases supplies and equipment within designated budget; monitoring supply level and condition in an ongoing manner
- Services as the contact staff on duty.
- Provides direct delivery of programs when required.
- Follow all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Additional Information
- Able to work flexible hours to meet operational needs, including weekends, days and evenings.
Key Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communications (verbal and written), customer service and public relation skills. Knowledge of recreation programming requirements.
- Experience in the areas of racquet sports program delivery and planning including tennis and pickleball, physical literacy and other recreation activities.
- Knowledge of methods used in assessing the recreation program needs of the community.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of leadership and recruiting, training and supervising staff members. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload, work under pressure with general supervision within a relatively unstructured environment while meeting scheduled deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other staff, general public and other CRD personnel.
- Good judgment, time management and communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency and experience with word processing, spreadsheets and recreation administration software.
Qualifications
- Degree in a related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years' directly related experience
- Supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications
- Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
- Tennis Canada Instructor Certificate
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
