Summary

This position is a key member of the Enterprise Resource Planning SAP functional team, responsible for the ongoing support, enhancement, and optimization of the CRD’s enterprise and business systems. The role applies deep SAP functional expertise and comprehensive business process knowledge across core operational process lifecycles, along with strong business analysis skills to evaluate organizational needs, design and configure effective solutions, and ensure seamless integration across interconnected processes, modules and applications. 
Working closely with business stakeholders, the Analyst leads and facilitates collaborative working sessions to elicit, analyze, and validate requirements; recommends best-practice SAP and end-to-end business process designs; prepares functional specifications; and supports system testing, training, and change-impact assessment. The role also contributes to the design and optimization of workflow and notification processes that support timely approvals and operational efficiency. The position contributes to successful solution delivery and adoption while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with business units to understand operational needs and translate them into clear functional requirements and designs that align with organizational objectives.
  • Leads business requirements analysis and facilitates structured workshops to document current state and future state financial and procurement process flows, including workflows and notification requirements, ensuring alignment with SAP best practices.
  • Validates and challenges existing business processes to identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and improved end to end transactional efficiency.
  • Prepares business requirements documents, use cases, presentations, and supporting documentation to define scope, objectives, and impacts for enhancements and projects.
  • Provides expert recommendations by evaluating alternatives, analyzing process strengths and weaknesses, and leveraging industry and SAP best practices.
  • Designs, configures, and tests SAP functional components to ensure accurate processing, integrated financial and procurement transaction flows, and strong system usability, including configuration of workflow rules, approval paths, and notifications.
  • Leads functional system design across applicable SAP process areas and integration points between financial, procurement, and related business processes, ensuring cohesive and scalable solutions.
  • Develops functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, reports, and forms, collaborating with technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Performs thorough validation of system changes, resolves defects, and ensures enhancements meet functional requirements and business expectations.
  • Develops and executes test plans, scenarios, and scripts to verify configuration, data flow, integration, and workflow routing across core operational processes and connected applications.
  • Prepares and delivers system demonstrations to stakeholders to validate solution approaches and support decision-making.
  • Coordinates internal resources, consulting partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to support project and enhancement delivery.
  • Utilizes project management practices to track progress, manage risks, and monitor achievement of short- and long term goals.
  • Prepares change management documentation to support adjustments to scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring transparency and effective governance.
  • Supports user acceptance testing, cutover activities, and deployment planning to ensure successful project go lives and adoption.
  • Provides expert training, guidance, and knowledge transfer to end users, peers, and project teams.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with SAP and technical teams, Finance, Procurement, and other business stakeholders, vendors, and consulting partners to enhance solution quality and knowledge exchange.
  • Uses an effective interpersonal style to support a cohesive and collaborative team environment, contributing to the success of team goals and organizational outcomes.
  • Mentors team members and provides functional guidance to peers to build SAP capability within the organization.
  • Identifies and recommends ongoing improvements to SAP processes, standards, methodologies, and solution frameworks, including opportunities to streamline workflow steps, routing logic, and automated notifications.
  • Remains current with SAP product developments, releases, mobile technologies, and emerging functionalities relevant to assigned process areas.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements; strong facilitation of cross-functional workshops.
  • Configuration and support of SAP S/4HANA modules with deep understanding of Procure-to-Pay and Record-to-Report lifecycles, including key financial transaction flows, g activities, workflow and approval processes, and cross-module integrations within SAP and with external applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform root-cause analysis across configuration, master data, and integrations.
  • Experience with Analytical Fiori and SAP Query; knowledge of Power BI (data modeling, measures, dashboards) and ability to validate SAP-to-BI data lineage for financial and procurement analytics.
  • Knowledge of current SAP trends and capabilities (e.g., S/4HANA, Fiori, embedded analytics), with practical insight into impacts like Universal Journal and Fiori role/catalog design, including workflow-enabled tasks and notification design.
  • Experience across the systems development lifecycle; creation of functional specs; UAT planning/execution, regression testing, and documentation; familiarity with transport management.
  • Experience with migration tools (e.g., LTMC, SAP DMC) is an asset; mock conversions, reconciliation of finance balances and open purchasing items, and cutover planning.
  • Collaboration on roles/authorizations and SoD; awareness of financial controls and workflow-based approval responsibilities.
  • Considerable experience with business process mapping (BPMN), fit-to-standard, and continuous improvement across integrated financial and procurement processes.
  • Strong operational and project management skills; ITIL-aligned incident/problem/change practices; results-focused and team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide guidance to team members and end users; experience overseeing consultants across simultaneous projects and managing deliverable quality.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and to set and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Outlook, SharePoint; ability to develop high-quality documentation, process maps, and training materials.

  • Degree in a related discipline
  • A minimum of 6 years' directly related experience
