Rate of Pay: $48.72 - $55.19 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits and vacation

Summary

This position works in partnership with CRD internal clients regarding their revenue process requirements, providing expertise, direction, advice and support, leading to the effective and efficient use of technology to sustain and improve related systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Functions as the technical resource person for the Sales and Distribution, Accounts Receivable, Utilities and Cash processing modules of the SAP enterprise system.
  • Responsible for the integration of all revenue, receivables and cash processing financial data into the enterprise financial system including external accounting systems and remote POS terminals.
  • Monitors and analyses CRD revenue processes and applications to ensure alignment with regulatory, policy and corporate requirements.
  • Assesses and evaluates the performance of CRD revenue processes and practices, recommending adjustments, improvements and enhancements and developing business cases to support those recommendations.
  • Develops, delivers and updates training and education to staff regarding revenue collection systems, regulations, protocols and policies.
  • Remains current regarding technologies, systems, equipment and procedures, determining their feasibility, compatibility, benefits and implications and making appropriate recommendations regarding their application.
  • Provides supervision and training, guidance and direction to the CRD Print Shop staff to ensure efficient systems and procedures are developed and maintained including billing customers, cost recovery, administering budget and setting rates.
  • Works in close collaboration with internal clients to ensure standards are maintained, and policies and procedures are revised or updated in order to remain current and relevant.
  • Administers the ongoing processing, reporting and evaluation of revenue, cash and bank processing, ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory requirements and with evolving CRD business process needs.
  • Co-ordinates the annual review and update of the Authenticated Parcel Tax rolls for the Parcel Tax Review Panel and submission to the Surveyor of Taxes.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and SharePoint skills.
  • Advanced data manipulation skills using MS Excel tools such as Vlookup and Pivot Table.
  • Considerable experience with and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong ability to work independently in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Strong ability to take initiative, use independent judgement and show discretion.
  • Strong ability to maintain professionalism, objectivity, confidentiality and integrity in all situations.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial, accounting and related business processes.
  • Advanced ability to develop and support financial and management accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced ability to analyze financial systems and data in an enterprise accounting system.
  • Considerable experience with revenue collection, accounts receivable, cash processing and/or accounting functions in a large and complex environment, including computerized accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong ability to take initiative, use independent judgement and show discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and to set and meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret regulations, by-laws, contracts, policies and procedures of a diverse nature.
  • Strong ability to train and provide clarification to non-technical customers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related discipline
  • A minimum of 6 years' progressively responsible experience
  • A minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Certifications

  • CPA Designation
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence
