Position Purpose
The Employee Experience Specialist has responsibility for employee experience and engagement initiatives including new employee onboarding and orientation, recognition programs, and enhancing and promoting aspects of the employee experience to foster inclusion and belonging, which support the advancement of the CRD’s cultural traits and business goals in line with the People, Safety and Culture Strategic Plan. The Specialist will translate our culture and business priorities in a manner that engages existing and potential employees. This role proactively collaborates with the People, Safety and Culture team to execute and implement strategies, programs and initiatives, to focus on enhancing the employee experience and workplace culture for employees.
Key Accountabilities/Position Outcomes
- Designs, develops and implements programs to promote employee engagement through the identification of opportunities, interventions and initiatives.
- Manage the planning, deployment, analysis, communication and change management activities related to roll out of engagement and employee experience initiatives to promote a shared understanding across the CRD.
- Advance action items from the People, Safety and Culture Strategic Plan including taking the lead on the development of the CRD’s Employee Value Proposition and Talent Acquisition Strategy.
- Collaborates with Corporate Communications and Engagement to develop social media content to reach potential employees through various methods (i.e. video, written content, employee stories, etc.) that align with CRD brand integrity.
- Develops and delivers employee experience focussed content for internal communication channels.
- Manages and facilitates all components of the New Employee Welcome sessions and guides enhancements to the onboarding and orientation program with the operational People, Safety and Culture team.
- Works with the Manager, HR and Strategies to deliver employee experience surveys, pulse surveys, and engagement activities across the CRD.
- Builds strong relationships to develop a deep understanding of the business needs and provide guidance to employees and leaders with a service minded attitude.
- Engages with employees through change management strategies, focus groups and training opportunities.
- Prepares presentations and reports for senior leadership and committees.
- Responsible for the leadership and management of employees and contractors within area of responsibility, including employment and labour relations matters involving: employee hiring, promotion, demotion and other personnel matters; discipline and discharge; representing management in the grievance procedure; input on behalf of management into labour relations matters, and representing management on committees; maintaining Employer confidentiality; and developing, supporting and implementing various corporate and legislated policies, procedures and practices.

- Ability to occasionally adjust hours to accommodate evening or weekend public events and/or meetings
Assets include:
- Knowledge of HRIS systems (i.e. SAP SuccessFactors) and InDesign
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation
Qualifications
- Degree in a related discipline
- A minimum of 3 years' directly related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience

- Highly effective communicator (verbal and written) that clearly conveys information and ideas to a diverse range of individuals and groups in a manner that engages and supports understanding.
- Strong ability to use a variety of communication methods (writing content for the intranet, communications to employees, social media etc.) ensuring messaging is engaging and accessible
- Ability to work at a strategic and tactical level to develop programs and operationalize them.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Comfortable delivering training and speaking in public settings, including employee events and celebrations.
- Experience with event planning.
- Strong data analytical skills including the ability to highlight compelling narratives with data insights to support recommendations for program enhancements.

- Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality as expected in a People, Safety and Culture office.
- Working knowledge of employment standards and human rights legislation.

- As the role evolves, knowledge to build internal media including e-publications and video, face to face communications, posters and marketing collateral.
- Proficient with SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
