Summary
This position supports long term capital planning and asset management organizational initiatives. This position is responsible for maintaining capital asset records, related financial analysis, and the maintenance of SAP Master Data related to capital assets. As a subject matter expert in asset accounting, the incumbent supports the development and design of related business processes, SAP Enterprise Asset Management master data and the implementation and maintenance of the SAP Asset management module. This position supports organizational processes such as assisting with year-end financial statements, working closely with the external auditors, PSAB requirements, and ensuring the financial control and integrity of CRD’s accounting processes specific to asset and capital management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides analysis and supports the development and oversight of long term capital and asset management plans for various CRD departments.
- Monitors capital asset requirements and works with operations to ensure that all additions, disposals, and transfers are properly accounted for, calculates depreciation annually for all capital assets, and reconciles relevant capital asset accounts.
- Assists with the preparation of the capital asset section of the year end consolidated financial statements and works with CRD’s external auditors to ensure consistency and accuracy of reported financial results.
- Provides quarterly and year-end financial and variance analysis around organization capital assets.
- Provides support to CRD departments to ensure internal financial controls for capital assets are maintained.
- Leads the asset configuration, modifying, testing, implementation, documentation, and training of SAP Asset Management module and SAP Project Systems.
- Assists in the continuing development and maintenance of best practice capital asset policies and procedures to ensure adherence to GAAP, including standards for periodic assessment and reporting of the physical condition of tangible capital assets.
- Maintains tangible capital asset records to meet the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards.
- Develops and uses information in the SAP Assets Management module for the analysis, accounting, and reporting of CRD assets and ensures currency of the CRD Asset Register.
- Provides training on capital asset acquisition, disposal and reporting processes.
- Prepares capital reporting information and analysis, for assessing adequacy of reserve funds and planning for infrastructure investment.
- Assists CRD departments in determining sustainment of assets through review of lifecycle assumptions.
- Performs gap and risk analysis of the CRD asset infrastructure as required.
- Assists in update of Standard of Recommended Practices (SORPs) assessment of TCA reporting of the condition assessment of physical assets.
- Performs regulatory filings relating to capital assets.
- Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Advanced data manipulation skills using MS Excel tools such as Vlookup and Pivot Table.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze large, complex data sets to convert into insights to drive business decisions.
- Substantial experience with and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' directly related experience
- NAMS Plus training
