Summary
This position is an integral part of the Business Systems team responsible for the ongoing support and development of the CRD's business applications portfolio. As a member of a team responsible for delivering solutions that meet both customer requirements and corporate commitments, this position conducts and facilitates workshops with business units to gather requirements for complex business procedures as well as developing and/or configuring the CRD's new or existing business systems. This position plays a pivital role of the adoption of DevOps as defined as the combination of people, process, and products to enable continuous delivery of value to our end users.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitates the adoption of DevOps (plan, develop/configure, deliver, operate) to enable continuous delivery of business value to the organization
- Leverages SaaS and PaaS methodologies to ensure the right solutions are delivered as efficiently and as scalable as possible
- Collaborates with business units to understand their business needs and to define functional requirements and creates technical designs to support the organization's strategy and goals
- Understands and utilizes business information to manage everyday operations and generates innovative solutions to approach business and technical challenges, analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of alternatives and provides recommendations
- Validates or challenges existing business processes and identifies areas for improvements through business process and technical standardization
- Facilitates business requirements analysis and technical design work sessions including creating business presentations, communications, and documentation to help achieve organizational goals
- Creates Business Requirements Documents and use cases to define business needs, project scope and objectives and provides resource estimates for preparation of business case and project costing
- Leads technical system design in the development and/or configuration of the business application portfolio and integration points
- Coordinates internal resources and consulting services for the execution of projects
- Prepares and delivers system demonstrations to stakeholders to validate business approach
- Establishes and maintains relationships with Microsoft, external vendors and consulting firms to obtain additional insights, approaches and solutions to various business requirements
- Follows all defined technology standards and processes and provides input for improvements as required and/or identified
- Performs risk management, as outlined in the Project Charter and/or risk register to minimize project risks
- Utilizes project management practices to track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long term goals provides regular project status reports to management and stakeholders
- Prepares Changement Management documentation for changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Develops test plans and performs testing to ensure adequate testing of system configuaration and integration across business systems portfolio
- Provides expertise to train and support groups as appropriate before system go-lives
- Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate
- Uses an effective interpersonal style to build, inspire, and sustain a cohesive team by focusing the team on its mission and importance of the role to organizational success
- Remains current with developments in the Microsoft ecosystem and related mobile technologies, including releases and enhancements/new functionality
- Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD
- Performs other related duties as required

Key Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Thorough knowledge and experience configuring and supporting SaaS and PaaS systems.
- Considerable experience in developing and/or configuring a wide range of applications for the browser environment.
- Thorough knowledge of application development standards, systems development life cycle and the Microsoft Windows operating systems, standard application development troubleshooting techniques and IT methodologies and procedures.
- Considerable experience designing systems for operation in an enterprise relational database environment utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong operational and project management skills; must be results focused and team oriented.
- Considerable experience working within an Enterprise Architecture, where systems and data have many inter-relationships and dependencies and an understanding of the critical nature of these relationships.
- Considerable experience in information technology systems design and development methodologies as related to the systems development lifecycle.
- Thorough knowledge of current trends in DevOps and enterprise business systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and partners to understand and document business requirements.
- Considerable experience overseeing teams of consultants focused on multiple simultaneous projects.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership skills to provide advice and guidance to team members and end users.
- Considerable experience with business process re-engineering.
- Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and SharePoint skills.
- Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Project.
- Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Visio.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and to set and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Degree in a related discipline
- A minimum of 6 years' directly related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
