Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lifeguard a diverse set of activities
  • Ensuring effective program instruction in a fun and safe manner for participants
  • Assists with the delivery of special events
  • Ensuring cleanliness of pool deck and surrounding areas.  
  • May be required to assist with administration duties as required.
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD. 
  • Performs other duties as required.

Key Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required. 
Familiar with emergency procedures and able to respond accordingly
Knowledgeable of the aquatic facilities rules and regulations

  • Ability to work independently with general supervision in a relatively structured environment

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
  • National Lifeguard Certificate
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Lifesaving Swim Instructor
