Summary

SEAPARC staff support Sooke residents, and each other, in living healthy lifestyles. Fitness instructors will deliver high quality group fitness classes that meet the diverse needs of the Sooke community. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • The instructor must have the skills to plan a safe and effective fitness class that is both motivating and challenging for participants.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
  • Lesson planning, strong communication and organizational skills required. 
  • Ability to instruct a variety of classes.
  • Able to respond to public relations in a positive, courteous manner. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Some directly related experience

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
  • Fitness Leader Certification (BCRPA or equivalent)
