Summary
As an important member of the community recreation team, this position is responsible for supervising a team of leaders and assistant leaders providing active, fun and engaging programs for children and youth aged 3 to 13 years. Overseeing a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and exciting out trips, the successful applicant will have a positive impact on the families whose children are in attendance. Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in planning and implementing staff training prior to the beginning of the program.
- Coordinates supply purchases, ordering and distribution.
- Coordinate and organize the room set ups, daily activities, special events, out trips and equipment for each camp.
- Volunteers: Mentors and checks in with camp volunteers
- Assist with the design of program goals and objectives to ensure overall quality of programs.
- Daily program check-in at all locations including contracted camps
- Assists camp leaders with positive behaviour support
- Assist with administrative tasks such as monitoring registration, medical forms, statistics, and budget.
- Communicate with parents, staff, children and supervisor.
- Ensure that camp leaders are adhering to SEAPARC policies and procedures.
- Assist in completing mid-summer check in and end of summer performance appraisals.
- Act as a substitute camp leader as needed.
- Compile reports at the end of the summer.

Key Skills & Abilities
- Experience and knowledge in program planning.
- Direct experience working with youth in a public recreation setting.
- Knowledge of Xplor Software and excel spreadsheets is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Customer service and public relations skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow established safety standards and requirements.
- Group leadership and facilitation skills.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 120 hours of directly related experience
- Supervisory experience
Certifications
- Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Valid BC Driver's Licence Class 4 (Unrestricted)
