Summary
This position provides front-line reception, cashier support, and clerical services.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides counter and phone reception services.
- Receives and directs customer enquiries.
- Provides program and schedule information to the general public.
- Process payments including admissions, program registrations, and bookings ensuring balanced transactions.
- Responsible for using the recreation software program registration ensuring accurate data input for family and organization accounts.
- Maintains and controls various cash floats and secures all cheques/cash in safe and closes credit/debit card machines at end of shift.
- Maintains office filing system.
- Performs other reception and administrative duties, as required.
- Assists program and administration staff with special projects, as required.
- Ensures the reception area is maintained in an organized and tidy manner at all times.
- Performs typing and general correspondence composition, as required.
- Handles Lost and Found inventory.
- Provides assistance in responding to emergency situations including first aids and facility evacuations, as required.
- Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and SharePoint skills.
- Thorough knowledge of office operations, administrative processes and systems.
- Expert ability to deal with the public with professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
- Expert ability to respond respond professionally to queries in person, over the phone and via email.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and to set and meet deadlines.
- Considerable experience with cash handling.
- Strong ability to operate various types of office equipment.
- Considerable switchboard operation experience.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary courses in a related discipline
- A minimum of 1 year directly related experience
Certifications
- Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
