Rate of Pay: $19.53 per hours plus 14% in lieu of benefits

Hours of Work:  Wednesday 4-9:30pm and Sunday 4:30pm-8:30pm

Summary

This position provides supervision and instruction to patrons regarding safe and effective use of fitness equipment. Serving a diverse community, employees will build co-operative and positive relationship with the public.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures cleanliness of Weight Room and other fitness areas.
  • Monitors weight room, ensuring safe use of equipment.
  • Responds to the public in a positive, courteous manner. 
  • Follows all policies, procedures, and standards of the CRD.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Some directly related experience

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
  • Weight Training and Fitness Leader Certification (BCRPA or equivalent)
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-A
