Hours of Work: Up to 10 hours bi-weekly*

Notes: *Work commencing September 9, 2024. Based on scheduled programming, anticipated shifts for fall 2024 include Mondays 4:15-7:45pm. Additional hours may be available Wednesday and/or Thursdays between 3:30 and 8:30pm, pending program registration levels. Hours and shifts will vary seasonally.

 

Summary

This position provides direct instruction and leadership of private and group tennis lessons to adults, youth and/or children at Panorama Recreation. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides direct instruction and leadership of tennis lessons, skill clinics and group programs to adults, youth and/or children
  • Plans and delivers engaging tennis lessons with a tactical or technical focus
  • Prepares equipment necessary for instruction prior to the start of the session
  • Provides constructive guidance and feedback
  • Ensures clear and respectful communication with players, parents/guardians, co-workers and supervisor(s)
  • Provides excellent service to both internal and external customers
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment
  • Keeps accurate attendance records
  • Follows of policies, procedures and standards of the CRD
  • Other related duties as required

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum level of tennis play: 4.0
  • Ability to increase/decrease the difficulty of drills to customize lessons
  • Possess the playing, demonstration and feeding abilities to work with tennis players up to a 3.5 level

Qualifications

  • High School Graduation
  • A minimum of 1 year directly related experience

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Tennis Canada Instructor Certificate
