Hours of Work: Up to 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, July 2-August 22
Notes: Must be available to attend training on May 31, June 7 and an additional weekday evening leading up to the summer. Some paid planning time will be expected pre-summer (for completion on applicant's time).

Summary
This position is responsible for the implementation and delivery of active and engaging multi-sport day camp programming for school age children. Planning, preparing and leading a variety of indoor and outdoor sport and physical activities, the successful applicant will have a positive impact on the children and families involved, and be an important member of the Panorama Recreation team. The incumbent will ensure children are engaged and provided with developmentally and age appropriate programming, while ensuring participant safety and wellbeing throughout.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Delivers safe, successful, healthy and enjoyable sport and physical activity programming for school age children.
- Completes program activity planning, within an assigned budget - planning activities that are meaningful, engaging, and developmentally and age-appropriate; including sports, cooperative games and other sport-inspired camp activities.
- Daily preparation of program space, along with preparation and execution of planned activities. Ensures equipment and program spaces are safe and sanitary before and after each program session.
- Provides learning and guidance to participants on appropriate behaviour during play and activities. Escorts participants to off-site activities on foot or, if appropriately licensed, as driver of a 24-passenger bus.
- Works collaboratively with a Day Camp Assistant(s) and Day Camp Inclusion Assistant(s).
- Delivers care and support with behaviour management, inclusion, first aid and other areas relating to caring for children.
- Acts as a liaison between the general public and CRD; providing good customer service and clear communication with parents and caregivers.
- Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Additional Information
- Some paid planning, training and development time will be scheduled pre-summer. Attendance of training and development sessions will be mandatory.

- Leadership abilities, including role model behaviours, along with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement while creating a positive, enthusiastic, safe and fun program environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Certifications
- Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
- National Coaching Certification Program Level 1 (or equivalent)
