Rate of Pay: $19.53 - $19.53 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits

Hours of Work: Varies - as and when needed, including days, evenings and weekends  Programs include, but not limited to:  general day camps/professional development days, cooking, crafts, art, science and general interest programs.  Age groups vary from 0-18 years.

Summary

This position will supervise and assist implementation of children and youth Community Recreation programs. The successful applicant will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a friendly rapport to support the delivery of safe, inclusive, and enjoyable programs for children and youth.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the organization and delivery of creative, age-appropriate recreational programs for children and youth.
  • Help create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment while ensuring the general well being of all participants.
  • Liaise with children, parents and staff in a warm and friendly manner
  • Assist with set up and clean-up of programs
  • Supervise safe use of equipment and activities
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
