Rate of Pay: $22.39 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits 

Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly (Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30 pm July 2-August 30th 2024, with additional time for training in May and June)

Summary

This position will assist with daily program planning and marketing, provide direct leadership with a variety of recreational and sporting activities within a fun & safe environment, work cooperatively with other staff members, assist in weekly program evaluation and implement recommendations derived from these sessions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead children in related summer camp activities and crafts
  • Assist in taking children on out trips
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members
  • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD
  • All other duties as required

  • None

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and public relations skills and experience are required.
  • Experience working with children in a similar/related capacity.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in secondary or post secondary education

Certifications

  • Acceptable criminal record check. The applicant/incumbent is required to undergo a criminal record check to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment.
  • National Lifeguard Certificate
  • Swim Instructor Award
  • Standard First Aid
